Biography

Walter Reynolds was born in Jacksonville Florida in 1974. In 1985, as a result of Executive Order 13578, the Reynolds family moved to the Miami Metro Area where they lived in a large refugee camp. In 1987, Walter’s parents and siblings were killed in a Cholera outbreak. Walter survived on his won in refugee camps.

Walter Differentiated at the age of 14, in 1988. He had found a barrel of highly concentrated Manna that had fallen off a truck. After gorging himself for days, Walter’s body suddenly created a clone of himself. This clone looked exactly like Walter, but it possessed limited brain function. The clone could not speak, but was able to understand and execute simple commands. Walter used his clone to help him get more food, which resulted in the creation of more clones.

In 1989, responding to reports of theft in the refugee camp, police discovered Walter Reynolds and several of his clones. Walter was promptly turned over to Section 26 for evaluation. After more than three year of testing, Walter was released with an offer of employment from Ultracorps. His clones would be used to perform menial tasks for the corporation.

In 2004, Ultracorps received a contract to take over sanitation for the Los Angeles Metro Area, utilizing clones or Walters as they are commonly called. Ultracorps has proposed expanding the program to the other Metro Areas. Walter continues to work for Ultracorps, creating clones, which are used for tasks such as window washing, floor mopping, and street sweeping.

Differentiation

Walter possesses the unique Differentiation designated Cloner. Walter is able to create near prefect clones of himself provided he consumes enough calories. These clones look exactly like Walter and are of similar physical abilities. Their mental function is greatly diminished, though. The clones lack the ability to speak, though they do possess a limited understanding of the English language and they are able to perform simple tasks if provided with clear instructions. The clones require food, water, and sleep at about roughly half the rate as normal humans. The clones possess a very limited ability to heal and their life spans are very short, usually eight months to a year.

Walter needs to consume approximately 250,000 calories in excess of his normal metabolic needs in order to produce a clone. With the food provided by Ultracorps, Walter generally creates 5-7 clones a day. The limits of Walter’s clone production have not been tested.

When provided with enough energy, the cells of Walter’s body seem to experience a simultaneous form of cellular mitosis, creating the clone of Walter. The mechanisms for this cellular function are not understood. Although the clones will listen to orders from any person, Walter has a unique link to his clones. Walter is able to direct his clones without verbal orders. The limits and true extent of this link have not been determined.
